Writers Protocol and Agreement
2.1 Account Sharing
Use of this site is for members only. For the protection of everyone concerned, members may not lend their user ID or password to others. Random checks are done to verify that the registered member is the person using the services of InkTip.
2.2 Copyright Requirement
In order to list any script (herein referred to as "Material") on InkTip, scripts must be registered through the Writers Guild, U.S. Copyright Office, or any other recognized copyright/registration agency.
2.3 Writer Protocol and Agreement
InkTip gains and retains Industry Professionals (producers, directors, representatives, etc.), as well as other writers, by promotion of successes from the use of our site. Therefore, we ask all writers to follow the protocol below:
I, a writer and user of InkTip, understand that I am to never contact an Industry Professional through any means due to a logline/synopsis/resume/profile/coverage viewing or related to any pitched query through InkTip's newsletters unless I am contacted by said Industry Professional.
I understand that the only time I am allowed to proactively contact an Industry Professional is at least three weeks after my treatment and/or script has been downloaded by said Industry Professional. I will contact them only via the message button on my viewings page that appears 3 weeks after the download.
If an Industry Professional asks for my script through a pitching opportunity submission through InkTip's newsletters, I understand that I can follow up to the email address that the Industry Professional contacted me through.
I understand that InkTip pitching opportunities in the InkTip newsletters are for members only (InkTip Pro, The Weekly Pitch, and regular subscribers). I will not submit Material that isn't requested by an Industry Professional, nor will I submit outside of the InkTip submission system.
I understand that my Material is subject to certain submission requirements as dictated by InkTip. This includes submission requirements for titles, loglines, synopses, scripts, pitch decks, accolades, and more. I will follow these to the letter and understand that InkTip can remove my Material from their site for breaching these requirements.
I understand that pornographic and/or racist Material is strictly prohibited, and InkTip has the sole discretion to determine if Material is pornographic and/or racist. Violation of this will result in Material removal and account banning.
I understand that any Material, either on InkTip or submitted to pitching opportunities, must be completed, copyrighted, and not written by AI and/or created with the use of generative AI. The submission of incomplete Material or AI-generated scripts is strictly prohibited, and violation of this policy will result in account suspension. I also understand that AI-generated coverage is not allowed on InkTip.
I understand that I cannot use InkTip viewings or InkTip's pitching opportunities to reach out to industry professionals outside the InkTip platform or through InkTip's Share Tracker. I understand when cold querying companies either on my own or using Share Tracker that I will be cognizant of who recently viewed my work on InkTip and not reach out to those companies. InkTip's messaging service for script and treatment viewings will be used to follow up 3 weeks after those viewings on the site.
I understand that if I am an InkTip Pro member or use one of InkTip's stand-alone services (The Weekly Pitch or the script listing), it is in my best interest to use my membership benefits to their fullest, and it is not the responsibility of anyone other than myself to do so. I understand that InkTip is not obligated to remind me of unused benefits.
If Material is sold/optioned or as a writer I get work, a development deal, or representation, etc., through InkTip, I must inform InkTip via email. InkTip reserves the right to announce any successes obtained through InkTip's network.
I understand that these are conditions for using InkTip.
2.4 Age Limitation
You must be at least 18 years of age to create and use an InkTip writer account. Writers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian co-sign the release form. Minors may only use the service under the supervision of an adult.
2.5 Respectful Conduct
We require all parties to be respectful of one another. Disrespectful communication to Industry Professionals can result in suspension or termination of your account without notice.
2.6 Restrictions
InkTip reserves the right to remove script listings from the site for any reason. InkTip may terminate or restrict your use of our service if you violate these Terms of Use and Writer Protocol or are engaged in illegal or fraudulent use of the service.
2.7 Changes to these Protocols and Agreements
InkTip reserves the right to change this Protocol without notification.
Industry Professionals Protocol and Agreement
The purpose of our website is for Industry Professional (IP) Members to find scripts and/or talent. It may not be used to promote for-fee services to the writers or to get them involved in any other type of activity.
This is a password-protected site and all writer contact information is to only be used for the purpose of requesting a script or to arrange representation.
3.1 Account Sharing
Use of this site is for members only. For the protection of everyone concerned, members may not lend out their username and password to others. However, there may be several users in one company, each having their own password.
Random checks are done to verify that the registered member is the person using the services of InkTip.
3.2 Industry Professional Protocol and Agreement
InkTip gains and retains writers, as well as other Industry Professionals, by promotion of successes from the use of our site. Therefore, we ask all Industry Professionals to follow the protocol below:
I, a professional of the entertainment industry, promise to always inform InkTip of any relationship I form with any writer that was in any way found, heard about or nurtured through InkTip.
I understand that this includes instances such as hiring the writer, optioning or purchasing a script, creating a handshake agreement, hip-pocket agreement, collaboration, or in any other means of working with said writer.
I understand that the reason for this protocol is so InkTip can promote the success of another project to its audience and others.
I understand that these are conditions to using InkTip.
3.3 Requirement to Notify InkTip
If a script is sold/optioned or the writer gets work, a development deal, or representation, etc., through InkTip, the industry professional must inform InkTip via email. InkTip reserves the right to announce any successes obtained through our network.
3.4 AI Generated Films
Currently, InkTip does not accept AI-generated films as industry credits towards access to our password protected area of the site. We also do not allow producers to source scripts for AI-generated films. As the industry and AI evolve together, we will continue to re-evaluate our policy on this.
3.5 Respectful Conduct
We require all parties to be respectful of one another. Disrespectful communication to others can result in suspension or termination of your account without notice
3.6 Changes to these Protocols and Agreements
InkTip reserves the right to change this Protocol without notification.
Subscription Terms
4.1 Subscription Autorenewal and Billing
Your InkTip Pro, Weekly Pitch, or InkTip Script Listing subscription will continue and automatically renew until terminated. To purchase a subscription, you will need to add one Payment Method to your account. "Payment Method" means a current, valid, accepted method of payment, as may be updated from time to time. You must cancel your subscription before it renews in order to avoid billing of the subscription fees for the next billing cycle to your Payment Method (see "Cancellation" below). The subscription fee and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the service, such as taxes and possible transaction fees, will be charged to your Payment Method on the specific payment date indicated on the "My Membership" page under "My Account." Your subscription plan renews each month on your invoice date (the day of the month you purchased the subscription). If your invoice date is on a day of the month not contained in a given month, your invoice will be processed on the first of the following month. Subscription fees are fully earned upon payment. You can see your next payment date on the "Billing Info" page of "My Account." We may authorize your Payment Method to verify it and to cover upcoming charges through various methods, including a pre-authorization of up to one month of service as soon as you register for a subscription.
4.2 Payment Methods
You authorize us to charge any Payment Method associated with your account in case your primary Payment Method is declined or no longer available to us for payment of your subscription fee. You remain responsible for any uncollected amounts. If a payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds, or otherwise, and you do not cancel your subscription, we will cancel your access to the service if we are unable to successfully charge a valid Payment Method. For some Payment Methods, the issuer may charge you certain fees, such as foreign transaction fees or other fees relating to the processing of your Payment Method. Check with your Payment Method service provider for details.
4.3 Updating your Payment Methods
You can update your Payment Methods through the "My Account" page under "Billing Info." We may also update your Payment Methods using information provided by the payment service providers. Following any update, you authorize us to continue to charge the applicable Payment Method(s).
4.4 Subscriptions Obtained Through Third Parties
Some subscriptions are offered by third parties in conjunction with the provision of their own products and services. We are not responsible for the products and services provided by such third parties. In addition, some of these subscription plans may have differing conditions and limitations, which will be disclosed prior to your sign-up or in other communications made available to you.
4.5 Cancellation
You can cancel your InkTip Pro, Weekly Pitch, or InkTip Script Listing subscription at any time. To cancel, go to the "My Membership" page under "My Account" and follow the cancellation instructions. The cancellation will take effect at the end of the billing period. You can see when your subscription will end on the "My Membership" page.
4.6 Changes to the Price and Subscription Plans
We may change our subscription plans and the price of our service from time to time. We will notify you before any price changes or changes to your subscription plan will become effective. If you do not wish to accept the price change or change to your subscription plan, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
4.7 No Refunds
Payments are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods. Following any cancellation, however, you will continue to have access to the service through the end of your current billing period. At any time, and for any reason, we may provide a refund, discount, or other consideration to some or all of our members ("credits"). The amount and form of such credits, and the decision to provide them, are at our sole and absolute discretion. The provision of credits in one instance does not entitle you to credits in the future for similar instances, nor does it obligate us to provide credits in the future, under any circumstance.
